The low-profile subduct riser (LSR) has gained acceptance as the preferred method to exhaust clothes dryers, kitchen hoods, and bathrooms in multi-story buildings. The use of an LSR allows the main exhaust shaft to be minimized and, in cases with a termination-mounted exhaust fan, the LSR eliminates the need for smoke and fire dampers.
